Mini skeeter/ maxi skeeter. when something like the mini comes along and nearly forty plans are sold in the first year, then we have to wonder about lugging around the big boats.but then one day you find yourself on big ice with lots of breeze and a couple of hundred pounds of boat under you, just anchored to the ice and there’s no place. The boats performed wonderfully. speeds in the upper 50's were achieved in the racing. the plans have cut sheets and in-depth drawings. the plans have links to the vendors for the proper rims, tires, front end conversion and rear axle assemble, ice runners, blocks, sail and mast, etc…. the plans have a fastener list for each ice or land version..
J14 skeeter iceboat “bdx ice cat” built by doug sharp. aluminum trailer,hull, two set of stays, 10 ft plank, sarns runners, sail, on & off ice wheels, and tools to assemble. all working great, just live to far away to enjoy it anymore.. I've had a lot of compliments from others about the mini skeeter. since then i've drawn up 16 pages of plans so others can build their own mini skeeter. tom schock stoked after getting a good ride in the mini skeeter. in the mean time i let tom schock of wd schock sailboats and his family sail the mini skeeter. he is a neighbor of mine.. John eisenlohr has created a hot new iceboat/landsailer class he calls the mini-skeeter. there are a number of them built as iceboats and john is taking his landsailer conversion to the alc at ivanpah. plans are available and there is a very active facebook group..
