Re: what size fuses? yes the fuse rating is dictated both by the current the service draws so 1 to 2 amps for nav lights etc etc.the fuse must have a rating above this current. it is also dictated by the max current rating of the thinest wire.. The old fuse ( glass) for my nav lights was 3 amp, i can't find one in blade style, is it ok to jump up to a 5 or 7.5? both my lights are incandescent, the bow is a perko fig 71, i couldn't find any info on the stern light, but its very common..
The fuse at the battery compartment is for the entire switch bank (4 switches) and that is the one that gets hot. there are 6 small lights, 2 port, 2 aft and 2 bow, running to the dock lt switch.. Protect your boat with the correct size wire and fuse. Re: help with fuse size most late model stereos have a fuse either in the back of the radio or in the wireing at the radio, most are 10 amps. the fuses in the fuse block are there to prevent wire damage or fire in the event something shorts out..
